A Delta Airlines worker was injured while responding to an engine fire that occurred on a plane that had just landed at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. According to authorities, the plan had arrived from Orlando, Florida. Airport firefighters were called to the tarmac to extinguish the blaze. The Federal Aviation Administration says that the fire broke out on Friday, June 13th, 2014 at approximately 10:25 p.m.
No passengers were injured in the case, but a ramp worker was taken to the hospital when she attempted to put out the fire. The victim, with the initials B.T., is said to be doing well. Delta maintenance staff is now examining the aircraft to determine the cause of the fire. According to reports, the passengers disembarked before the fire started.
